How BodyTalk Works

BodyTalk is a Consciousness-Based Healing System

By Joanne Fisher, Certified BodyTalk Practitioner + Conscious Birthkeeper

At its foundation, BodyTalk recognises that your body is not just physical—it is a network of consciousness that includes the physical body, emotions, thoughts, energy systems, and higher awareness.

Health is the natural result of communication and synchronicity across all these levels. Illness or imbalance occurs when communication breaks down.

What it means that the body is a network of consciousness

Your body is not just flesh and bones. It’s more like a living web of communication that includes:

  • Physical signals (cells, organs, chemistry)
  • Emotions (how you feel)
  • Thoughts and beliefs (your mindset & relationship to surroundings/experiences)
  • Energy systems (the flow of vitality)
  • Higher awareness (intuition, sense of meaning, connection)

All of these are talking to each other all the time. That conversation is what keeps you alive and well.

Health = Clear Communication

When every part of your body-mind web can “talk and listen” freely, you experience:

  • A body that repairs and adapts naturally.
  • Emotions that move and resolve instead of getting stuck.
  • Thoughts that are flexible and supportive.
  • Energy that flows, keeping you vital.
  • A sense of trust, meaning, and alignment in life.

Illness = Broken Communication

When communication is blocked or distorted:

  • Your body can’t repair properly → symptoms, pain, fatigue.
  • Emotions get stuck → anxiety, grief, anger.
  • Thoughts harden → stress, hopelessness.
  • Energy slows down → exhaustion or weakness.
  • Awareness dims → you feel lost, disconnected, purposeless.

So illness and injuries are not random—they are your body’s way of showing you where communication has broken down.

Easy Analogy:

Your body is like a corporation

  • The departments are your systems (nervous, immune, digestive, etc.).
  • The employees are your organs, endocrines, and body parts, each with a role.
  • The board of directors is your higher awareness, guiding vision and purpose.
  • The communication network is your energy system—phone lines, emails, and meetings that keep everyone connected.

When all departments and employees are sharing information and cooperating, the company thrives. This is what health looks like—smooth flow, adaptability, and productivity.

But when communication breaks down, departments stop coordinating, employees go on strike, and confusion spreads. In your body, these breakdowns show up as symptoms, stress, or illness.

The Role of Innate Wisdom

Every session works with your innate intelligence—the inner guidance system that already knows what is out of balance and what order healing should follow. I don’t impose treatment; instead, I facilitate communication so your body can heal itself.

What is Innate Intelligence?

Innate intelligence is your body’s built-in wisdom—the organising principle that keeps you alive, adapting, and healing every moment.

  • Physically: automatic regulation—heartbeat, clotting, cell repair, immune defence.
  • Emotionally: processing feelings, releasing stress, adapting to change.
  • Mentally: guiding problem-solving, creativity, new perspectives.
  • Energetically: maintaining flow through meridians, chakras, and biofields.
  • Spiritually: aligning you with meaning, intuition, and higher connection.

Why it Matters

  • Always present: innate is constantly scanning for imbalances and directing repair.
  • Knows the sequence: healing must happen in a specific order; innate knows this better than the conscious mind.
  • Guides the session: through muscle testing and the Protocol Chart, I “ask” innate intelligence what area of communication needs attention first.

Innate intelligence is your body’s natural, built-in wisdom that organises and coordinates every aspect of life—physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual—guiding the healing process in the precise order needed for balance to be restored.

Easy Analogy:

Your body is like a quadrillion-piece puzzle

Every cell, organ, emotion, belief, and energy pathway is one of those pieces. On your own, it would be impossible to know where each piece goes.

Innate intelligence holds the big-picture image on the box—the holographic blueprint of what ideal health looks like.

Just like you don’t have to think about how to heal a cut—your body automatically closes the wound, fights infection, and repairs tissue—innate intelligence already knows how to put the pieces back together.

The only time problems arise is when:

  • Communication is blocked → a department isn’t receiving the message.
  • Awareness is missing → innate doesn’t realise a piece is out of place.
  • Interference is present → trauma, stress, or beliefs override natural flow.

This is where BodyTalk steps in. Using the Protocol Chart and muscle testing, I give innate intelligence the information it needs. Once innate becomes aware, it knows exactly what to do—reconnecting communication, restoring flow, and placing the pieces back where they belong.

In essence: Innate intelligence already knows the big picture of your health and how to achieve it. BodyTalk simply brings its attention to what’s missing, so healing can happen naturally.

So, How is BodyTalk done?

I begin by navigating the BodyTalk Protocol Chart, a map of all the possible areas where communication may have broken down. Using muscle testing, I identify your body’s unique priorities—what needs attention and in what order.

Once those priorities are revealed, we reestablish communication through gentle tapping. This allows your innate intelligence to register the new awareness, integrate it, and restore balance across body, mind, and spirit.

In essence: I ask, your body answers, and together we bring communication back online so healing can happen naturally.

Let’s break this down in detail:

Protocol Chart

The BodyTalk Protocol Chart is the central tool I use. It’s a structured map of all the possible areas where communication may have broken down in your body-mind. Instead of guessing, I use the chart (with muscle testing) to let your innate intelligence point to the exact priority for healing.

The chart covers the full spectrum of human experience:

  • Physical Systems – cells, tissues, organs, glands, fascia, nervous and immune systems, chemistry.
  • Emotions & Beliefs – active memories, subconscious rules, suppressed feelings, sensory filters, five elements.
  • Energy Fields – meridians, chakras, Wei Qi, biofields, matrices.
  • Ancestral & Epigenetic Influences – inherited patterns, family cycles, past-life imprints.
  • Collective & Higher Consciousness – archetypes, life cycles, astrological influences, collective fields, permission levels.

It’s comprehensive, structured, and non-linear—healing follows your body’s unique priority, not a formula.

Easy Analogy:

The Protocol Chart is like a library’s directory. Your health story is the library, filled with millions of books (memories, genes, experiences). The chart doesn’t hold the books—it shows where to find them.

Muscle Testing

Muscle testing is a biofeedback technique that allows me to communicate directly with your innate wisdom.

  • If the muscle/tissue moves easily → Yes
  • If it resists or doesn’t want to move → No

It’s literally a way of asking your body questions and getting clear answers.

For distance sessions, I act as a surrogate. Because innate intelligence isn’t bound by time or space, I can still access your healing priorities no matter where you are.

It’s like bypassing the thinking mind and letting your body speak for itself.

 Identifying the Priority Links

Muscle testing reveals which parts of your body-mind need reconnection and in what order.

A priority link is the specific connection between two (or more) parts of your body-mind that innate intelligence identifies as needing reconnection.

Examples:

  • Between body parts (e.g., liver ↔ stomach).
  • Between systems (e.g., nervous ↔ immune).
  • Between levels of consciousness (e.g., a belief system ↔ a chakra).

By restoring these priority links, your body reestablishes synchronicity, allowing natural healing to unfold.

Re-establish Communication

Once priorities are identified, I help your system reestablish communication through gentle tapping:

  • Head (Brain) – The “Fix It” Button
Registers the new awareness and lights up the neural network.
  • Heart (Sternum) – The “Save It” Button
Circulates the shift through your blood—each cell carries the message like an office memo.
  • Gut Brain – The “Embody It” Step
Grounds the change instinctively, ensuring it becomes fully embodied.

When your three brains (head, heart, and gut) align, you can move forward with clarity and balance.

What Tapping Does

Tapping is more than ritual—it’s physics and consciousness combined.

  • Like ripples in water, tapping spreads awareness through fascia, fluids, and energy.
  • It helps release “e-motion” (energy in motion) that’s been stuck.
  • It generates solitons—self-reinforcing waves that carry new information through your system.
  • It acts like a tuning fork, broadcasting the shift so your whole being responds.

6. The Philosophy of Healing

Symptoms as Messengers

Your symptoms are not enemies to fight against—they are messages.

  • Emotional reactivity signals old wounds or dysregulation.
  • Injuries often highlight where stress or miscommunication is being held.
  • Depression reflects blocked communication across body, mind, and spirit.

Healing as Restoring Communication

Healing is not me fixing you. Healing happens when communication is restored so your body can do what it is designed to do: heal itself.

When communication is open:

  • Emotional reactivity shifts into resilience.
  • Injuries heal more completely.
  • Depression lifts as flow and meaning return.

The Uniqueness of Each Session

Every session is different because your priorities are unique. What looks like the same symptom in two people may have completely different roots.

  • A knee injury might link to unresolved grief in your lungs.
  • Emotional reactivity may trace back to an ancestral imprint.
  • Depression may only shift when your three brains are back in alignment.

I am not the healer—you are. My role is to be the translator, helping you hear what your body has been saying all along.

Conclusion

At its heart, BodyTalk is not about fixing you. It is about listening to you.

  • Symptoms are signals, not enemies. They are the body’s way of asking for attention.
  • Emotional reactivity, injuries, and depression are communication, not dysfunction. They reveal where connection has been lost.
  • Healing is reconnection, not correction. When communication is restored, your body knows exactly what to do.
  • I am not the healer—you are. My role is simply to translate your body’s wisdom so it can be heard, honoured, and acted upon.

Every session unfolds according to your body’s own priorities, in the sequence that ensures lasting change.

True healing happens when your body remembers its wholeness—when mind, body, emotions, and spirit are once again in dialogue and harmony, and you can finally hear the wisdom that has been within you all along.
